Thousand Oaks : Work to Close 3 On-Ramps Briefly

Three Thousand Oaks freeway on-ramps will be closed briefly in coming days as construction crews work to brace the interchanges for future earthquakes, Caltrans officials say.
The southbound connector from the Ventura Freeway to northbound California 23 in Thousand Oaks will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Saturday while work is under way.
At the same time, the southbound California 23 connector to the southbound Ventura Freeway also will be shored up, reopening Saturday morning as a one-lane ramp.
Monday night, traffic on the Ventura Freeway between Borchard Road and Wendy Drive will be reduced to one lane in each direction, while further seismic support work is done. It will reopen early Tuesday.
The California Department of Transportation awarded a $1.5-million contract to Heritage Engineering Construction Inc. of Pomona to do the work, which began last month and is expected to finish next spring.
The state has targeted 134 bridges for improvement this year in Ventura and Los Angeles counties.
