LA HABRA — A 71-year-old woman was critically injured Friday when her car struck a light pole near a busy intersection, police said.
Anna Wilshire of Brea was traveling east on La Habra Boulevard near Monte Vista Street about 12:40 p.m. when her 1983 Buick veered across the four-lane street, Police Sgt. Bob Wyse said.
She apparently had lost control of her car, perhaps because of medical reasons, Wyse said, and the vehicle collided head-on into a traffic light pole.
She was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where she was listed in critical condition Friday night, officials said.
