THOUSAND OAKS : Freeway Jams Expected for 2 More Months

Share

It will be two months before the morning traffic jams on the southbound Moorpark Freeway at the Ventura Freeway interchange clear up, officials say.

The backups are due to construction crews strengthening the overpass as part of a statewide seismic-retrofitting program, said California Department of Transportation spokesman Vincent Moreno.

Caltrans is scheduled to spend more than $1 billion to beef up about 2,000 overpasses and highway bridges across the state that might be susceptible to damage in a severe earthquake.
