TUSTIN : Longtime City Clerk Wynn Steps Down

Share

Mary E. Wynn, a Tustin official for nearly two decades, has resigned as city clerk, citing personal reasons.

Wynn’s colleagues at City Hall expressed sadness over her departure.

“She was great to work with,” said Valerie Whiteman, chief deputy city clerk. “She had lots of good stories about the city and about former councils because she has been around so long.”

Wynn was hired by the city of Tustin in 1975 as a secretary in the planning department. Later, she worked as chief deputy city clerk before being elected city clerk in 1980.

City Manager William A. Huston said Wednesday that replacing Wynn will be difficult, given her years of experience.

“She was hard-working and dedicated as an employee, and she always had the city’s best interest at heart,” Huston said.

The vacancy will be filled by the City Council at its Aug. 21 meeting.
