Former “Cheers” barmaid Shelley Long will be among a host of actors, writers and celebrities in Thousand Oaks to pay tribute to “Fahrenheit 451” author Ray Bradbury as he turns 75 on Tuesday.
The birthday party takes place at the Forum Theatre in the Civic Arts Plaza. It includes a reception (which the public can attend for $75) and celebrity readings, followed by the birthday party.
Expected to attend are Carl Reiner, Rod Steiger, Samantha Eggar, Norman Lloyd, David Warner and William Windom. Radio personality Norman Corwin will introduce celebrity readings from selected Bradbury works.
The party is sponsored by the Thousand Oaks Library Foundation as a gesture of gratitude toward Bradbury for the volunteer work he has done for libraries.
Tickets from $25 to $75 are available at the Civic Arts Plaza box office. Call 449-ARTS or Ticketmaster for information.
