PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : EXHIBITION GAME : Broncos Rally to Beat Cowboys, 20-17
Bill Musgrave, battling Hugh Millen for the backup quarterback job, threw a third-quarter touchdown pass to Jerry Evans, helping the Broncos defeat the Dallas Cowboys, 20-17, at Denver.
Musgrave’s one-yard touchdown throw to Evans produced a 17-17 tie, and Jason Elam’s 27-yard field goal with 9:37 to play accounted for the difference.
The Broncos’ 455 total yards were the most in an NFL exhibition this year.
