North Hills : Youth, 13, Shot at Hotel Room Window
A 13-year-old boy was in critical condition Thursday after being shot as he stood near an open window in his hotel room, Los Angeles police said.
Antonio Gutierrez was shot in the torso about 5 a.m. as his older brother, his sister and his mother, Martha Trejo, slept, said LAPD Detective Marshall White. The family was staying at the Travel Inn in the 8500 block of Sepulveda Boulevard in North Hills.
The youth was taken to a local hospital, where he was in critical condition late Thursday, a hospital spokesman said.
Police said the shooting appeared to be gang-related, but no suspects had been arrested by Thursday afternoon.
