Residents Shouldn’t Fall for Centerplex
* Ventura residents shouldn’t fall for the Centerplex scam. Why should the people of Ventura bleed funds away from schools and legitimate city programs so that a wealthy car dealer can get wealthier?
It is true that the auto mall is a major contributor to the city tax base, but it is unreasonable for the city of Ventura to ransom its future. The costs incurred from building the Centerplex and additional freeway access to the auto mall/Centerplex, would put us in debt for many years. We would be putting all our tax “eggs” in one basket.
