OUTLOOK
Not many coaches could lose a player as talented as Dwayne Cherrington and still be optimistic. Cherrington, a standout running back for three years, is at Colorado. But the Falcons should still make a run at a playoff berth, which would be their first since 1979. There’s plenty of experience, including transfers Barnes (Villa Park) and Wallace (Century). Naea and Parrott are two-year lettermen. Parrott moves from quarterback to wide receiver. If Chavez handles the quarterback role and Naea shows a portion of Cherrington’s abilities, the Falcons will be fine.
