OUTLOOK

The Vaqueros will be talented at skill positions but vulnerable to injuries. Case lost four starters, two of them two-way starters, to grade problems and he only has 25 out for varsity. “We’re down anyway and this compounds it,” Case said. “The young kids are going to have to step up.” Rancho has the county’s best sophomore class with Vickers and Young, brothers of former all-county players Leon Vickers and Chris Young, Garcia, a transfer from Sylmar, and Blanco, who turns 15 after the fourth game.
