Tarzana : Woman Driver Fights Off Male Assailant

Share

A woman motorist successfully fought off an attacker in Tarzana on Thursday night, damaging only a fingernail as she repeatedly pushed the assailant away from her car.

The woman, whose name was not released by police, was attacked about 11:30 p.m. as she drove north on Tampa Avenue near Oxnard Street, said Sgt. Gregory Renner of the West Valley station.

Renner said the unidentified assailant apparently attacked the woman as she slowed down near the intersection. The woman told police the suspect reached through the driver’s side window and tried to grab her car keys, but was thwarted twice as she fought him off, Renner said.
