2 Sentenced in Massive Cocaine Bust

Two men who police say sold more than a ton of cocaine were sentenced Tuesday in a Los Angeles County Superior Court to lengthy prison terms.
Deputy Dist. Atty. John Ramseyer said Carlos H. Ortiz, 42, was sentenced to 30 years in prison and Ramon Franco Bejarano, 39, was sentenced to 29 years in jail by Superior Court Judge Edward A. Ferns.
The case is one of the largest cocaine trafficking convictions in recent Los Angeles history.
Ramseyer said the two men were convicted of conspiracy and possession and sale of drugs.
Nearly a ton of cocaine was found in a North Hollywood garage in February by police as part of a two-day investigation into the actions of Ortiz and Bejarano, who are both Colombian citizens.
