Clinics Offer Flu Immunizations

Share

As the flu season nears, health organizations are setting up the first lines of defense with scores of low-cost immunization clinics across the county.

Last year clinics in Ventura County immunized more than 10,000 people, said Lin Glusac, an immunization coordinator with the Ventura County Public Heath Department.

This year, clinics will vaccinate county residents in high-risk groups including people over 60, care givers, health care workers and children and adults with chronic medical problems who would develop serious complications from the flu, Glusac said.

The first clinic will be open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2705 Loma Vista Road in Ventura. Many clinics in Oxnard, Simi Valley, Camarillo, Santa Paula and other cities will offer immunizations on various days through December.
