Westminster, Junior
Football/Receiver
Kurien had the third most productive receiving game in Orange County history Friday, catching eight passes for 275 yards in a 15-14 victory over Marina. He scored Westminster’s touchdowns on 88- and 73-yard passes from Manuel Tapia. Kurien’s big night could have been bigger; he dropped three passes, two of which would have gone for long touchdowns, Westminster Coach Stan Clark said. “He could have had an absolutely amazing night,” Clark said. “As it was it was pretty outstanding.” Brian Fleming of Laguna Hills holds the county record of 307 yards in 1987.
