Northridge Adds Cross-Country Meet

Share

The Cal State Northridge men’s cross-country team has been forced to add the Cal Poly Pomona Invitational on Oct. 21 to its schedule because the Matadors were unable to field a full scoring team at last Saturday’s Stanford Invitational.

In order to fulfill its requirements as an NCAA Division I program, Northridge must field a team of at least five runners in a minimum of six meets each season.

The Stanford meet was supposed to be the third of six meets for Northridge, but only four Matadors competed Saturday because of injuries to freshman Javier Ramirez and junior Dave Hensley, and illness to freshman Mike Wenz.

In addition to the Pomona meet, Northridge will run in the Arizona State Invitational next Friday, the American West Conference championships Oct. 28 and in the NCAA District VIII regional Nov. 11.
