Gunshot Victim Dies of Wounds

OXNARD — A 24-year-old Oxnard man has died five days after being shot in the head during what police are calling a gang-related shooting, authorities said.
Sergio Sanchez Maldando was initially listed in critical condition at St. John’s Regional Medical Center after the 11:30 p.m. shooting Sept. 29 in the 400 block of Anita Avenue, but died Thursday as a result of his injuries, police said.
The investigation is continuing.
