The Oakland Raiders are suing the NFL for $200 million, alleging the league blocked the team’s return to Oakland and now is demanding a $4-million annual payment.

Oakland, Alameda County and the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority joined in the antitrust lawsuit, filed Thursday in federal court in response to one filed in August by the league.

In the earlier suit, the NFL claimed the team refused to share revenue from personal seat licenses, club seats and maintenance fees with visiting teams.

“The NFL blocked the Raiders from moving to Oakland in 1994 to the community’s considerable damage,” Oakland Mayor Elihu Harris said in a statement. “Now they are trying to exact huge sums from us and the Raiders.”

The Raiders will try to use kicker Jeff Jaeger on Sunday against Seattle. Jaeger has been recovering from a sprained right knee in the final game of the exhibition season.

Former USC kicker Cole Ford has made eight of nine field goal tries, missing only from 53 yards.
