A Garden Grove man was arrested in front of his home on suspicion of running a clandestine drug lab and selling methamphetamine, police said Thursday.

Police arrested William Christopher Dale, 31, in the 12000 block of Quatro Avenue shortly after 8 p.m. Wednesday during an alleged drug sale, Sgt. Scott Watson said.

When police and narcotics investigators searched his home, they discovered a “fully operational and sophisticated” lab in a bedroom, according to Watson.

Two ounces of methamphetamine were found, and a .357-caliber handgun was seized, police said.

“The nature of the equipment was very extensive,” Lt. John Woods said. “This was not makeshift stuff.”

Dale was booked at Orange County Jail on suspicion of manufacturing, possessing and trafficking methamphetamine. He was also being held on suspicion of possessing a loaded handgun where narcotics are produced.
