After the death of her husband, she moved to Thousand Oaks, where she worked as a fund-raiser for United Way. After retiring, in 1985, she opened Pets & Paws, a thrift store that raised funds for various animal organizations, her son said.

“She loved animals,” Christopher Robinson said, adding that his mother had two dogs--a Siberian husky and an English sheep dog--that lived with her until she died.

An avid reader, Robinson enjoyed watching the television show “Jeopardy!” and spending time with her friends, her son said.

In addition to her son, she is survived by two grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Pierce Brothers Griffin Mortuary, Thousand Oaks.
