Southwest Launches Fare Sale: The Dallas-based airline cut prices on 21-day advance-purchase tickets throughout most of its route system, with prices starting as low as $19 for one-way travel on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. The fares will be slightly higher on other days and do not include airport charges of up to $6 each way. Seats are limited and will not be available on some flights during busy travel times and holidays. Examples of Southwest Airlines Co.’s $19 “Gotta Go Fares” include Chicago to Cleveland, which has an unrestricted $77 fare, and Phoenix to Las Vegas, which normally costs up to $69. The prices are good through Nov. 7 for travel between Nov. 10 and April 5. The fares are not available for travel to and from Orange County. Meanwhile, United Airlines’ Shuttle by United announced that it will match the fares on competing routes.
