Conejo Valley : Registration Begins for Student Trip to D.C.
Registration has begun for an annual trip to Washington, D.C., for students living in the Conejo Valley.
Informational meetings will be held Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday’s meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. at Colina Middle School, 1500 Hillcrest Drive. Thursday’s will be at 7:30 p.m. at Medea Creek Middle School, 1002 Doubletree Road in Agoura.
Officials stress that the trip is not sponsored by any school district, so schools do not have information. Those seeking details should call Don Zimring at (818) 991-2516 or Tom Johnsen at (805) 498-9475.
Total cost for the trip is $976, including air fare, meals, sightseeing and gratuities, Zimring said. The trip, which is open to eighth- through 12th-graders, is scheduled during spring vacation.
As in past years, students will visit the historical town of Williamsburg, Va. Other stops include the FBI building, the Holocaust Museum, national monuments and the Kennedy Center.
