Calabasas : Candidate Forums Set for School Board Seats

Candidate forums will be held during the coming week for seven people vying for two open seats on the Las Virgenes Unified School District Board of Education.

The first forum, sponsored by the Calabasas Park Homeowners Assn., will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bay Laurel Elementary School, 24740 Paseo Primario in Calabasas.

The second will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Calabasas High School, 22855 Mulholland Highway.

The final forum will be at 7 p.m. next Monday at Agoura High School, 28545 W. Driver Ave. in Agoura Hills.

The last two forums, sponsored by an umbrella of group of various parent/faculty associations in the Las Virgenes district, will be moderated by the League of Women Voters. The election is Nov. 7.

Candidates are an incumbent, Amy Berns of Agoura Hills, a former educator who is now a psychologist; Michael J. Berry of Westlake Village, an electronics technician; Betsy Berry of Agoura Hills, a speech pathologist; Charles Eastman of Agoura Hills, an educator and financial consultant; Edith Enezian of Agoura Hills, a homemaker and legal secretary; Gordon Whitehead of Agoura Hills, a certified public accountant; and Larry Rubin of Calabasas, an educator.
