COLLEGE FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : UCLA : Edwards to Return to Lineup as End
Look for Donnie Edwards to make his long-awaited return to the field Saturday against California at the Rose Bowl.
But don’t look for him at middle linebacker.
Having taken five weeks to recover from a compression fracture of the vertebrae, Edwards will ease back into action as a defensive end on pass-rushing situations.
He reported no soreness after contact drills this week, but he remains cautious.
“I’m always ready to go, but I’m not stupid and ignorant where I’d do something detrimental to myself,” he said.

Receiver Kevin Jordan is questionable for Saturday because of irritation in his right knee. Jordan has a team-leading 29 consecutive starts.
