ONE-MAN SHOW
Hal Holbrook will bring his acclaimed one-man portrait “Mark Twain Tonight!” to the Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks, for an 8 p.m. show.
Wreathed in cigar smoke and wearing a white linen suit, Holbrook has portrayed the legendary 19th-Century author, humorist and social commentator for 41 years. Though the actor has performed more than 1,800 shows--and has unearthed more than 12 hours of Twain’s material--Holbrook has no set show and instead arranges each program as he performs. The show is filled with sassy one-liners and wry reflections gleamed from Twain’s many humorous books, stories and essays. Tickets range from $18 to $29 and are available at the box office or Ticketmaster outlets. Information: 449-ARTS. Ticketmaster: 583-8700
