Richard Dice, Arizona’s top wide receiver until he injured a knee, faces a one-game suspension after he recovers.

Athletic Director Jim Livengood said the school would comply with the NCAA order to suspend the player, but blamed the situation on an agent.

Livengood notified the NCAA three weeks ago that Dice had accepted a telephone debit card from a “runner” for agent Robert Troy Caron of Oxnard.

A preliminary investigation by the Pac-10 determined that Dice never used the card, and that no impropriety existed. But the NCAA said this week its Legislative Services staff had reinterpreted the rules to make acceptance a violation.

Louisville sophomore receiver John Bell will not be able to play football again after a neck injury suffered against Maryland on Saturday, the school announced. . . . The NCAA suspended TCU running back Andre Davis for four games for accepting illegal benefits from an agent through his former roommate. . . . Jermaine Webster and Quincy Sanders of UNLV and Juan Givens and Avery Cummings of Nevada have been suspended for one game for their alleged roles in altercations during and after Saturday’s game.
