Talking About Talk Shows

Regarding Howard Rosenberg’s article “These Policemen Are Pounding the Wrong Beat” (Calendar, Oct. 30). After 45 years of network television, I can recall TV celeb Faye Emerson being taken to wardrobe for netting to cover her cleavage before going on. I agree with Rosenberg: Talk shows have as much right on the air as do silk-stocking shows, but what about the young kid who watches and believes that what he is seeing is the way of life for all? Kids are impressionable and most of this programming is on in the afternoon.
