SOUTHERN SECTION ROUNDUP : Antelope Valley Makes Its Points in 1st Half of Win

Antelope Valley High, ranked No. 1 in the area by The Times, rolled up 48 points in the first half and coasted to a 61-24 Golden League victory over Palmdale on Friday night at Palmdale.
The Antelopes (8-1, 4-0 in league play), who average 48 points a game, finished with 589 total yards.
Jermaine Lewis led the Antelopes, scoring on a 63-yard run on Antelope Valley’s first possession and rushing for 270 yards and five touchdowns in 17 carries. Lewis played only in the first half.
Antelope Valley’s Bobby Brown completed all five of his passes for 117 yards and two touchdowns. Ken Nelson rushed for 149 yards and two scores in seven carries.
Jan Brown of Palmdale (4-5, 2-2) rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns in 20 carries.
