COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Saddleback Tips Fullerton, 10-8

Saddleback beat Fullerton, 10-8, Wednesday at Saddleback to advance to the second round of the Southern California Regional men’s water polo playoffs.

Fullerton led Saddleback, 4-3, after the first quarter, but the Gauchos came back behind Brian Pearce, who had four goals in the first-round game.

Charlie Womack had 14 saves for Saddleback (16-10-3).

Ian Ching scored three goals to lead Fullerton (18-11-2).

Saddleback will meet Golden West at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Belmont Plaza Pool in Long Beach.

In other playoff games:

Palomar 12, Orange Coast 9--Bret Trezise had five goals to lead Orange Coast, which finished 11-17-1. Palomar is 19-12.

In Orange Empire Conference women’s volleyball:

Golden West 3, Orange Coast 1--Golden West, ranked first in the state, took a two-game conference lead after beating Orange Coast, 15-10, 15-0, 11-15, 15-6. Mary Luhrs had 16 kills and Ursula Luna added 13 for the Rustlers (16-2, 8-0).
