In another Marmonte League game:
Camarillo 17, Channel Islands 12--Camarillo was able to hold off Channel Islands in a game filled with penalties.
Joe Borchard completed 16 of 37 passes for 190 yards and one touchdown for Camarillo (5-5, 4-3). Camarillo’s Andy Kroneberger gained 106 yards in 10 carries, including a 54-yard scoring run.
Channel Islands’ Charles Merricks completed 10 of 26 passes for 236 yards. Channel Islands (3-7, 1-6) had 16 penalties for 145 yards, which stopped several key drives.
Three Channel Islands players and two from Camarillo were ejected for personal fouls on three occasions.
