Discussions about why Colin Powell decided not to run for President will dominate the public-affairs shows this weekend. But those looking for something lighter will find a batch of new TV movies.
Families can check out “The Barefoot Executive,” a remake of Disney’s 1971 movie, at 9 tonight on ABC. The new version stars Chris Elliott, Jason London and Julia Sweeney.
There are three films to choose from on Sunday: “Streets of Laredo,” the sequel to Larry McMurtry’s “Lonesome Dove,” begins with a three-hour installment at 8 p.m. on CBS, with James Garner starring. The Western concludes Tuesday at 9 p.m. on Channel 2.
Scott Bakula stars in Fox’s two-part “The Invaders,” based on the 1967-68 TV series. Elizabeth Pena, DeLane Matthews and Roy Thinnes also star, Sunday and Tuesday at 8 p.m. on Channel 11.
Meanwhile, former “Christy” star Kellie Martin stars in “Her Hidden Truth,” with Antonio Sabato Jr., Sunday at 9 p.m. on NBC.
