PORT HUENEME : Hearing to Address Water Agency Change
The Local Agency Formation Commission will hold a public hearing today to discuss the annexation of the Port Hueneme Water Agency to the Calleguas Municipal Water District.
The annexation is part of a larger project designed to provide high-quality water to the city of Port Hueneme, the Channel Islands Beach Harbor District and two naval bases.
Under the proposal, state water from the Calleguas district would be combined with local ground water processed at a new treatment plant.
The hearing will take place at 9 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room, Ventura County Government Center, 800 S. Victoria Ave., Ventura.
In coming months, two additional hearings will be put on by the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and the Calleguas Municipal Water District.
