PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : NFC : Rams Trying to Reduce Relocation Fee

A $20-million payment due this week for relocating the Rams has been put in escrow while St. Louis officials negotiate with the NFL to lower it.

The money was due Wednesday. But former Sen. Thomas F. Eagleton said a request was made to postpone the payment until Nov. 30.

“We granted that to them,” NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said. “We’re willing to listen to them. But we haven’t heard any specifics yet. They’ve asked us to listen to them. We want to give them an opportunity.”
