Paul, Horton Selected Frontier League’s Best

Moorpark High quarterback Bryan Paul has been named offensive most valuable player of the Frontier League.
Linebacker Marshall Horton of Calabasas was named the league’s most valuable defensive player. Calabasas Coach Larry Edwards and his staff were voted staff of the year.

Kilpatrick players took top honors on the All-Alpha League team, with running back Larry Ford getting the offensive MVP award and defensive back Jonathan Weber taking the defensive MVP award.
The Mustangs, who finished third in the Alpha League, had six all-league selections. League champion L.A. Baptist had eight players on the team, including sophomore quarterback Peter Dirksen. Six players from second-place Village Christian made the squad.

The start time for Saturday’s Western State Conference Bowl game between Moorpark College (7-3) and El Camino (7-3) at Moorpark has been moved to 1 p.m.
Women’s Volleyball
Pepperdine will make its first postseason appearance since 1991, playing Friday in the National Invitational Volleyball Championship in Kansas City.
The Waves (21-10), who tied for second in the West Coast Conference, will face Kansas State and Rice on Friday and Drake on Saturday in pool play.
Baseball
With three victories last weekend, West Oaks has moved into the semifinals of the South Orange County 18-and-under tournament and will play the Southern California Wave on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Saddleback College.
West Oaks, which includes several of the area’s top high school players, defeated Redlands, 9-1, Moreno Valley, 4-1, and San Dimas, 15-6. Matt Reardon has seven hits and Andrew Miller has driven in five runs.
Miscellany
The city of Ventura is holding registration for men’s, women’s and coed softball tournaments, and a men’s basketball tournament that are scheduled for December.
