Long Beach Poly was losing to Capistrano Valley, 21-18, with 1:30 to play Friday night in their Division I football quarterfinal playoff, and the Jackrabbits were on defense and had no timeouts. But Cougar quarterback Austin Moherman fumbled on his one-yard line, Poly defensive end Bruce Carter recovered and the Jackrabbits’ Aaron Tyler scored on the next play for a 24-21 victory. . . . Kenchasa Amos ran for 230 yards in 22 carries and scored five touchdowns as Cerritos Valley Christian defeated L.A. Baptist, 50-28.
