Greg Cicero, Servite, Junior, Football/Quarterback

Cicero, a mop-up reserve last season, has developed into a Servite leader. He has passed for more than 2,000 yards and Friday he broke the school record for touchdown passes in a season with 26. The record-breaking touchdown couldn’t have come at a better time; it was a 73-yard completion to Vince Reed that gave the Friars’ a 21-14 lead over Corona del Mar in the fourth quarter of the Division V semifinals. Cicero completed seven of 13 passes for 212 yards in the Friars’ 21-16 victory.

* Santa Margarita, senior. Had 20 points and 13 rebounds in the Eagles’ 48-40 victory over Villa Park in the title game of the San Luis Obispo tournament.

* Estancia, senior. Scored 23 points to lead the Eagles to a 70-66 victory over Los Alamitos in the title game of the Daily Pilot Tip-Off Classic.

* El Toro, junior. Caught six passes for 64 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 108 yards and one touchdown in the Chargers’ 41-23 victory over Western in the Division V semifinals.

Octavio Villa

* Santiago, junior. In his first competitive wrestling match, Villa beat Santa Ana’s George Perez, 9-6, at 160 pounds, helping the unranked Cavaliers’ to a 34-27 victory over the No. 2 Saints.
