Man, 75, Is Killed in Collision
NORTH HILLS —
A 75-year-old North Hills resident was killed Thursday when he drove his car through a red light and into the side of an 18-wheel truck, Los Angeles police said.
Jack Golob was driving south on Hayvenhurst Avenue about 12:45 p.m. when he ran a red light at Nordhoff Street and broadsided the truck, Officer Mark Schneider said.
Los Angeles firefighters had to use a cutting device to remove Golob from his car, but he was already dead, Schneider said. The truck driver was not injured.
