HUNTINGTON BEACH : Japanese Schools Seek English Instructors
Huntington Beach’s sister city of Anjo, Japan, is seeking people to teach English at junior high schools there.
Up to three instructors will be hired to work in Japan helping Anjo teachers who lead classes in conversational English. The instructors also would give English lessons to Japanese teachers and speak at official Anjo events. Applicants are not required to speak Japanese or to be in the teaching profession. However, candidates should have bachelor’s degrees and one year of formal study in Japanese history and culture.
Salary is $35,000 to $45,000 a year. The deadline for applications is Jan. 5. Information: (714) 960-8836.
