SANTA ANA : District Adopts Rules for Drivers’ Drug Tests
A few school district employees will be subject to drug testing beginning next year, under a policy adopted by the school board this week.
Santa Ana Unified School District trustees approved the testing 4 to 0 Tuesday. The policy, enacted to comply with federal law, applies to district employees responsible for driving commercial vehicles.
Because the school district contracts with a private company for school bus service, only about three people responsible for operating trailers that haul heavy equipment will be affected by the policy.
