Obituaries : Margaret E. Borchard; Lifelong County Resident
Margaret E. Borchard, a member of a pioneering Ventura County family, died Friday at her Camarillo home. She was 83.
Born in Oxnard, Borchard belonged to the fourth generation of her family to farm in Ventura County. She farmed the Oxnard Plain with her late husband, Carl, planting dry beans and row crops.
She is survived by three sisters: Viola DeBusschere and Ethel Gill of Camarillo, and Pauline Coffman of Santa Barbara. Other survivors include her daughters--Elizabeth Burke of Carlsbad and Mary Donlon of Patterson--and eight grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Chapel in Ventura. The burial Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Magdalen Chapel in Camarillo with entombment to follow at the Santa Clara Cemetery in Oxnard.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home in Ventura.
