The Great Santini (KCOP Tuesday at 4 a.m.) is a sensitive and powerfully wrought 1979 family drama in which a husband and father (Robert Duvall, playing a Marine fighter-pilot trapped between wars) tries to run his family like a boot camp.
Antonia & Jane (Bravo Tuesday at 9 p.m., Wednesday at 12:50 a.m.), Beeban Kidron’s funny, biting little comedy, is about the relationship of a wallflower (Imelda Staunton) and a beauty (Saskia Reeves). It traces their unpredictably shifting fortunes and romantic lives. Superficially about urban intellectuals and their sexual and career frustrations, the film scores a number of social points in the midst of its quiet smiles and laughs.
