COLLEGE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Cincinnati Beats Cal to Push Record to 7-0

Damon Flint scored 20 points and No. 9 Cincinnati pulled away in the final three minutes of a 77-70 victory over No. 24 California Wednesday in Oakland.

The Bearcats (7-0) matched their best start since 1992, when they reached the Final Four.

Freshman Shareef Abdur-Rahim led the Bears (4-1) with 25 points.

No. 6 Georgetown 104, Morgan State 60--Allen Iverson hit consecutive three-point shots, then had three fastbreak assists in a 15-0 run that led the Hoyas (9-1) to a rout of the Bears (1-6) at Landover, Md.

Iverson had 20 points, seven assists, nine rebounds and six steals in 27 minutes.

No. 10 Iowa 93, Western Illinois 41--Jess Settles and Russ Millard scored 15 points each and the Hawkeyes (9-1) made 10 three-point shots in the second half of a rout of the Leathernecks (3-4) at Iowa City.

Iowa won its seventh in a row.

No. 11 North Carolina 66, Pittsburgh 49--Antawn Jamison scored 17 points to lead a balanced attack that carried the Tar Heels (8-1) past the Panthers (3-3) at Pittsburgh.

No. 14 Illinois 96, No. 15 Missouri 85--Jerry Hester hit two three-point shots in overtime and Kiwane Garris scored 23 points as the Illini (8-0) beat the Tigers (7-2) at St. Louis.

No. 20 Duke 107, Western Carolina 67--Jeff Capel had 27 points and Greg Newton hit all nine of his shots in getting 22 in a Blue Devil (7-2) rout of the Catamounts (1-6) at Durham, N.C.

No. 25 Louisville 81, Murray State 72--Marcus Brown had 36 points for the Racers (5-3) but the Cardinals (7-3) had four players score in double figures at Louisville.

PACIFIC 10

Oregon 65, Boise State 54--Kyle Milling had 20 points and 11 rebounds as the Ducks (5-3) defeated the Broncos (2-5) at Eugene, Ore.

College Basketball Notes

Cal State Fullerton junior guard Chris St. Clair has decided to sit out the rest of the season to seek a medical hardship redshirt season and retain two more seasons of eligibility, the school announced. St. Clair underwent reconstructive surgery on his left knee last March.
