Has a Beef With Denny's

Corporate stupidity. This is the only way I can interpret them recent Denny’s $46-million giveaway (“Restaurant Chain Sending Checks in Discrimination Case,” Dec. 12).

The Denny’s employees guilty of discrimination should be reprimanded, punished or dismissed. An apology should be made to those humiliated.

But give away the big bucks to anyone who alleges discrimination? Is Denny’s management too naive to realize that there will be massive abuses? It appears they want to buy their way out of this mess.

I strongly suspect the motives of anyone who can be bought off after a personal insult has been inflicted.

Stupid move, Denny’s.
