Community Chest : Food Drive Seeks Nonperishable Items

* Jones Intercable of Oxnard and the Oxnard Factory Outlet are collecting canned and nonperishable food items for the Commission on Human Concerns’ food drive. Donations may be brought to Jones Intercable offices at 721 Maulhardt Ave., Oxnard, or to the Oxnard Factory Outlet Mall Visitors Center. The food drive ends Dec. 30. Concert to Benefit Dancers’ Trip to London

* Dance Unlimited presents “The Dancers’ Benefit Concert” at 7 p.m. Jan. 3 at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center, 3050 Los Angeles Ave., Simi Valley. Wall Calendar Sales to Benefit Disabled

* The Ventura Community Services Department is selling its 1996 Adaptive Recreation Wall Calendar to benefit Ventura’s mentally and physically disabled citizens. The calendar features photographs of local events scheduled for 1996. Jog-A-Thon Planned at Oxnard State Beach

* The American Cancer Society and Black American Political Assn. of California will present the first Herman F. Qualls/Jog-A-Thon Jan. 13 at Oxnard State Beach on Harbor Boulevard. Dinner to Benefit Mono Lake Restoration

* The Conejo Valley Audubon Society will host a dinner and auction at 7 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Wedgewood Banquet Center, 5880 Olivas Park Drive, Ventura. The evening will include a dinner, desserts of the Southwest and an auction. Proceeds are to benefit the Mono Lake restoration project and the Western Foundation for Vertebrate Zoology.
