Former figure skating champion Tonya Harding and machinist Michael Smith boarded a yacht on the Willamette River for a private wedding ceremony Saturday.

She emerged from a white limousine and was quickly wrapped from head to toe in a white blanket as friends and a security guard led her on to the boat.

It was Harding’s second marriage and Smith’s fourth.

Harding’s first husband was Jeff Gillooly, who changed his name to Stone after he admitted plotting a 1994 attack on Harding’s skating rival, Nancy Kerrigan.

Harding, 25, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to hinder prosecution in the case. She was forced to resign from the U.S. Figure Skating Assn., stripped of her title and banned for life from competing in events sanctioned by the U.S. skating body.

Harding has said she looks forward to leading a more sedate life, starting a family and someday living on a farm. She planned to be on her honeymoon until Jan. 10.

Asked if she would say where the couple would honeymoon, Harding said, “Do you think I’m stupid?”
