LA HABRA — An 18-year-old man who was talking to two friends was wounded when shots were fired from a passing car, police said Tuesday.
The shooting occurred about 10 p.m. Monday as Enrique Fonseca of La Habra was in a carport in the 1200 block of Burwood Street, Police Sgt. Phil Stufflebean said.
Fonseca was struck twice in the upper body while the two others with him were not injured. He was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was listed in stable condition.
“It seems as though they were only aiming at him,” Stufflebean said. A motive for the shooting has not been determined, he said.
