Parents who want to welcome the New Year with grown-ups only can arrange for their children to spend the night at the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach or at city-sponsored parties in San Clemente and Dana Point.

In Laguna Beach, the children will be allowed to stay up all night at the party, which begins at 6 p.m. Sunday and concludes at 10 a.m. Monday.

The $35 registration fee includes dinner, games, movies and a midnight party, said Vicki Munsell, the club’s education director.

“It’s a good chance for the parents to go out and enjoy themselves on New Year’s Eve and for the kids to have a lot of fun,” Munsell said Thursday. “We’re probably going to limit it to 55 kids. . . . We have 20 already, so there’s still room for 35 more.”

Children six and older are welcome, Munsell said. Youngsters should bring sleeping bags and pillows, just in case they want to nap.

The club will have three adult chaperons, she said. Information: (714) 494-2535.

In San Clemente and Dana Point, the cities’ community service departments are offering a joint all-night New Year’s Eve party for children 6 to 12 years old.

The party, which begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 8:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day, will include pizza, games and crafts, movies and sparkling cider at midnight.

The cost is $17 for the first child and $12 for each additional child from the same family. The pizza costs an extra $2 the night of the party, which will be at Dana Point Community Center, 34052 Del Obispo St.

Space is limited and filling quickly, organizers said. Reservations: (714) 496-4251.
