COLLEGE ROUNDUP : UCI Women Beat Bucknell to Stop Losing Streak
UC Irvine stopped a four-game losing streak by defeating Bucknell, 64-59, in a women’s basketball Thursday at Irvine.
Davette Williams scored 12 points, including six in the final 4 1/2 minutes, to help the Anteaters rally after trailing, 54-52. Allah-mi Basheer had 18 points and 12 rebounds for Irvine (5-4).
Chiara Sockel scored 13 points for Bucknell (6-4).
In another nonconference game:
Weber State 69, Cal State Fullerton 59--Dee Braxton scored 19 points and Lee Moulin had 13 for Fullerton (2-6). Rachelle Gardner scored 23 points for Weber State (4-5).
In the Concordia tournament:
Concordia 88, Concordia (Ill.) 56--Angela Sather scored 14 points and Jaime Gast added 12 points for the winners. Dinah Shah had 11 points and had eight assists for the Eagles.
