Exotic Wood Heads Field in La Brea Stakes

Unbeaten Exotic Wood goes to the post today as the favorite in the $125,000-added La Brea Stakes at Santa Anita.

Exotic Wood, who has won her four career starts by a combined 19 lengths, will be ridden by Chris McCarron and was assigned 119 pounds for the 23rd running of the seven-furlong race for 3-year-old fillies.

Exotic Wood won her first race at Del Mar last September by 5 1/2 lengths. She won two allowance races in sprints at Santa Anita’s Oak Tree meeting before winning an overnight stakes at Hollywood Park in November.

Others entered were Ski Dancer, who will be ridden by Kent Desormeaux and was assigned 119 pounds; Jewel Princess, Corey Nakatani, 119; Evil’s Pic, Eddie Delahoussaye, 119; Embroidered, Alex Solis, 117; Our Summer Bid, Jose Silva, 117, and Lady Sorolla, Corey Black, 115.
