UC Irvine’s Sarkisian Wins at Invitational

UC Irvine’s Rich Sarkisian placed first in the men’s 1,000-yard freestyle as the Anteater men finished third in the UC Irvine Distance Invitational swimming with 102 points. Sarkisian, who was second in the 500 freestyle, won the 1,000 freestyle in 9 minutes 59.71 seconds.

Cal State Bakersfield won with 140 points and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo was second with 114.

In women’s competition, UC Irvine finished second with 115 points. San Luis Obispo was first with 189 points and San Diego finished third (70).
