Obituary : Aneita White Litchfield; 42-Year Ventura Resident

Aneita White Litchfield, a longtime Ventura resident, died at her residence after a long illness. She was 94.

Born Sept. 17, 1901, in Batesville, Ark., Litchfield lived briefly with husband Richard Scott Litchfield in Shanghai, China, until the outbreak of World War II. They then returned to the United States and settled in Santa Barbara before moving to Ventura, where Litchfield lived for 42 years.

Litchfield, who held a degree in business and economics from Washington State University, worked as a civil servant at Point Mugu naval base before retiring.

Litchfield was a supporter of Wildlife Waystation and other humane animal and environmental groups. She was also a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.

She is survived by a daughter, Heather, of Ventura.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Santa Barbara Cemetery. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Charles Carroll Funeral Home, Ventura.
